Rachel Byrne

Line Producer / Choreographer

Rachel is from Dublin, Ireland. She began her dancing at the age of four with the Crean School. Throughout her distinguished competitive career, she won titles including eight Dublin, nine Leinster and four All Ireland championships.

Rachel began her professional dance career as one of the original cast members of Riverdance. Her association with the show spanned eight years, and included extensive tours of the U.S.A., Australia, Europe and the Far East. Highlights of Rachels time with Riverdance include performing at The Radio City Music Hall, New York, and at The Opening Ceremony of The Special Olympics in Croke Park, Dublin.

Rachel qualified as a dance teacher and works at the very successful Lee-Byrne Academy of Irish Dance. The Academy has produced numerous world champions and Rachel is very proud of the fact that the dance troupe were the official Disney performing group for five consecutive years at Disneyland Resort Paris Saint Patrick's Festival.

Rachel took part as a celebrity teacher in RTE's Jigs & Reels TV programme in 2007 and reached the semi finals with her dance partner, celebrity chef Kevin Dundon.

Rachel owns and manages 'The Village Montessori School' in Dublin. The school has gone from strength to strength and takes up most of Rachels time but, as she says, “the kids make all the hard work worthwhile”.

Rachel is very excited to be involved with studio2stage - The Irish Music & Dance Experience
